Hey there cherokee...I am not Brent..but i may be of some help to you. The ELF...while it is very popular in ghosthunting because of the fact that it is an inexpensive EMF meter...is not very well built unfortunately...I have had personal experience with this meter where it has completely fallen apart in my hands during usage..the body literally separated from the meter board...while this basically just shows poor product manufacturing..it also made me double think on it's viability as far as accurate readings. I literally own a very basic GAUSS meter..which i love..it has never done me wrong and gives accurate reads.
This is what i have found as far as info on the ELF...i hope it helps you as far as the info you were seeking:
The ELF Zone AC gaussmeter can measure the strength of magnetic field radiation and has the advantages of ease of use and very low cost.
Calibrated at 50/60 Hz with a minimum sensitivity of 0.25 mG, but will detect ELF magnetic fields over the whole frequency range of 20 - 10,000 Hz. Laboratory tested and documented for accuracy.
Three LED lights signal field strength:
* 0 - 2.5 mG ("safe") Green * 2.5 - 7 mG ("caution") Yellow * 8 or more mG ("danger") Red
Single axis sensor, on/off toggle switch. One fresh 9V battery required. Useful for preliminary surveys of home, car, or office. Economical.
