hmmm...now this is a subject i can get into....kinda similar in description to the jersey devil..and eerily similar in description to the legendary "Thunderbird" of the American Indian culture lore... stories of a creature fitting "Mothman's" description have been around for thousands of years and pretty much cross all boards culturally.
THE one thing i will say about the Mothman that i find the same in ALL descriptions..is that these creatures seem to carry a message of some type to the people they appear to. NOW becuase many of these messages seemed to have been warnings of dire events that could NOT be altered...many have "labeled" Mothman as a "demon" or an "evil" entity... to me..it seems that if this creature does indeed exist..it crosses the dimensional line somewhere between time and space..perhaps fitting the true definition of what we pagans define as an "elemental"
Now the kicker on the end of this...is that the "moth" symbolically represents a "messenger" ..funny..becuase every single one of these appearances has been a message sent and received.
food for thought.... ONCE again
Peace out guys

Whats even more weird in this equation, is a coincidence (or not). The term "Mothman" was dubbed by a news reporter. It was dubbed so because at the height of the sightings in West Virginia, the action series "Batman", staring Adam West, was in full swing. With the descriptions of the creature being sighted in Point Pleasant having a "winged" or "moth like" description, the reporter poked fun at it by adding to it.
So, Nancy makes a good correlation between the symbolism of the moth being a "messenger" (Verified) and the prophetic nature of the mothman visits. Why would this creature, resembling a large man-like moth, just so happen to be seemingly delivering messages? A coincidence?
Probably not.
There is meaning for everything.

Nancy, just recently I saw a Paranormal State that was devoted to the Mothman. It was pretty interesting Chip was on the invest with them. In one of the igloos where explosives were stored in during ww2 i think they said. The EMF detector spiked and Chip said he was picking up on the words no harm and intelegent. Just my 2 cent. Tom
