My grandparents house was a church about 100 years ago, renovated and is now a home. my grandparents were asleep, parents were out, no pets at the house, i was laying on the couch at about 2 A.M. thumbing through my ipod when something hit my hand. It was more like a slap because of the way it felt. I hid under the covers as fast as i could and then i peeked out, and no one was there. The living room is huge so i wouldve seen someone run in or out but no one was there. Im sure it wasnt a dream because it was waaaaaaay to real for me to be asleep. That was the only disturbance there so far but i think its because the "thing" wanted to get some shut eye.

don't ya hate it when things like that happen?? makes ya question your sanity. But you make a good point with this short story CT..many times people have experiences such as this..and they basically file it away in the "wasn't that messed up?" file..what makes a good investigator..is NOT hiding under the covers..but sitting up and double checking everything that happened. finding the source...that drive comes as things happen more often..some of us take the challenge to figure it out..others just feel better by going back to sleep..the choice is always yours to make...but..considering what you have posted here..i am thinking you are more a person to challenge things...ASK questions CT...it never hurts anything and MANY times..you get answers..or at least the knowledge that others have had similar experiences

Hi CT, Had that same kind of experience on my porch. Something poked me right in the shoulder behind me, not a gentle poke, like someone took their finger and poked me hard to get my attention. I spent over an hour trying to stand in the same spot and try to have it happen again. Thought it was the wreath on my door, but I would have had to lay against the door to touch it with shoulder, and even though, wouldn't have been the same sensation. I was just outside earlier smoking a cig on the porch, and tried it again. Even witht the wreath gone. Some things you just can't explain.

I had my sleeve on my coat pulled once while I was in a store with my husband and kid...turned around thinking it was my kid messing with me and she was too far behind me to have been her and my hubby was behind her...I also got whispering in my ear...even now in my house I periodically get whispers in my ear...unfortunately I can't understand what they are saying...so I ask them to speak up so I can hear...still not clear on what they are saying...but it cracks me up everytime cause I hear it and then I ask if my hubby heard that and he just looks at me like I'm crazy...LOL

I guess the best way to define it CT is that you get beyond fear..and learn to separate it from the emotion of being "startled" one can recover quickly from being startled..one cannot recover quickly from being scared.

so rather than being scared of something, face it and recover?

Hey ct...just like Nancy said...sometimes I do get startled because of course I don't expect it...and sometimes I will even get a creeped out feeling, but nothing that would make me run from it...One thing you have to know about me...I am one VERY nosey person!!!! If somethings happening, I want to know WHAT!!!! Yes...I am one of those people that drives everyone crazy!!! I am a RUBBER NECKER and PROUD OF IT!!! But, hey the way I see it...if I didn't try to see or learn or hear everything...I'd miss out on a whole heck of a lot!!! Love me or hate me...LOL

basically..break it down to what it is..forget that u cannot see it..or that it seems to do things that we cannot..look at it as a person who is stuck in a star trek transporter..lol... (tacky i know) But..truly..would u be afraid of something like that? I highly doubt it. It is our imagination that burns fear into us..basically our mind filling in the blanks that are left by unknowns..what begets a good investigator..is HOW you fill in those blanks.. if you fill it in with "evil" or "it will hurt me" or "it is here to cause harm" YOUR consciousness will immediately go ona defensive..and fear will begin to alter your decisions as well as perceptions. IF you fill it in with "wow..that sucks..they are stuck here" or "wow..maybe they're trying to get a message across" or even "WOW..it is 2am..and we're wondering around their house..bet they are pissed" you would be surprised HOW much that does to stabilize your emotional and perceptional thought processes
