Safer footing Nov 28 2008
Flip-flops are to be given to drunk women to prevent them injuring themselves when wearing high heels, police have said.
Officers in Torquay, Devon, said sometimes female revellers wear "inappropriate" footwear and can either fall or take their shoes off and risk cutting their feet.
The flip-flops will have messages about safe alcohol limits printed on them and will be paid for by Government funding. The scheme is set to begin next month.
OK, so in that last paragraph... These women are drunk! If they can't walk, what makes you think their going to be able to read messages on their shoes!?
